Dear Miss Addams,
I am extremely glad to be able to send you under another cover a copy of “The Making of the Reparation and Economic Sections of the Treaty”, by Bernard M. Baruch. As one of the economic advisors of the American Delegation to the Peace Conference, Mr. Baruch is singularly qualified to throw light on what is no doubt the crucial problem in the present economic situation in Europe. One of the most interesting features of Mr. Baruch’s book is the running commentary in the form of marginal notes which accompanies the text of the reparation and economic clauses of the treaty of Versailles.
Very sincerely yours,
Stephen P. Duggan [signed]
Director.
