My dear Alice
I have a letter from Dr Cook this morning, in which he hopes that you will come to Mendota. I will meet you there any day excepting Saturday when I have a lecture engagement. It would be very nice to have you come back with me. So many people have gone to Europe this Spring that there is plenty of room. You could have my room on the Court, with Miss Lund, a charming little trained nurse who is here just now, to take care of you.
If however you prefer I will go [page 2] back to Girard with you for a few days or arrange to have Laura go for a longer time, if that would be better.
Esther will be in the hospital for the rest of this week but after that affairs will settle back in their [illegible] order.
Please write me a line and tell me which plan you prefer. I believe that you would find my two rooms with your meals up stairs a very good sanitarium — occasional visits from the grand nieces would cheer you up, I am sure. Hoping to hear from you at once, I am always your loving sister Jane Addams
