THE PRAYING CULPRIT
Miss Jane Addams told at a mothers' meeting at Hull House a story about a little girl.
"Little Effie," she said. "Had disobeyed her father and had in consequence been punished. She took her punishment very hard, and that night, having her prayers at her mother's knee, she concluded with this petition:
"'And please don't give my papa any more children, Lord, 'cause he don't know how to treat those he's got.'" -- Exchange.
