NATION'S SEVERE LOSS

CHICAGO, Jan. 6. -- "Mr. Roosevelt embodied the best things in American citizenship," declared Miss Jane Addams, head of Hull House.

"[Although] in the many years that I have known him we have not always agreed, I have felt [throughout] the most profound personal admiration for Mr. Roosevelt. The nation has suffered a severe loss."
