My dear Mr. Gilder:-

The check for $1000.00 from Mr. Carnegie came in the same post with your letter. It was a matter of very great encouragement to the Finance Committee of the second Peace Conference, and all of us feel very much indebted to you for securing it for us. May I thank you for your kindness not only for myself, but on behalf of the Chicago Committee who have been working really very hard.

The meetings are very well attended. I am enclosing a program which may interest you.

With cordial greetings to Mrs. Gilder and yourself, I am,

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams. [signed]
