14 February 1922.
My dear Miss Addams:
I am enclosing copy of a letter which came today from Mary Winsor, and I have promptly acted upon this by cabling to Miss Balch.
Of course I am sorry the Committee was not unanimous, but as Miss Doty was practically alone in wishing Frau [Augspurg] and Lida Heymann invited, it was obvious that things would work out in that way. I hope that you will approve. Besides the $1000 which Philadelphia plans to raise, we have $150 promised in each of the following cities: New York, Boston and Minneapolis. It seems to me that Milwaukee should be interested and might help. Can you tell us who would be the best person to get in touch with there?
Miss Dulles is starting out this week to organize for us in Maryland. I hope we may have added materially to our membership by the time of the Annual Meeting in April.
Sincerely yours,
Maude S. Odell [signed]
