I am researching the career of Velona Pilcher and have published several articles and book chapters about her. Her dates are 1894-1952.  Velona's mother was Julia Velona Bissell (died 1896) and her father was William Pilcher (died 1900). She lived in Kenway Road Kensington Earl's Court London in the 1920s. Velona's will left everything to her friend Elizabeth Sprigge and she had no children, or siblings. I am in contact with the rights owner for the Sprigge estate and can put you in touch. Velona was brought up in the USA by her aunt (mother's sister) with cousins from her mother's side John and Ada Robinson; John Robinson had children/grandchildren. She served with the Stanford University women's unit in France 1918-1919 and wrote a play based on the experience called The Searcher (1929, performed twice in the US and UK in 1930). It is dedicated to her godmother Mary M. Emery who had recently died. Please contact me for any further assistance.
