Dear Miss Addams:
The victory for woman suffrage having been achieved, the Woman's Party is arranging to place busts of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and Susan B. Anthony in the National Capitol.
Adelaide Johnson, the sculptor, executed the original busts in the life time of Miss Anthony and Mrs. Stanton. She was on intimate terms of friendship with them. It was the aim of the original committee formed of influential persons to place these works at Washington. Today is the opportune moment to complete this memorial to the pioneers of our movement.
As it seems advisable to form a special committee to raise the necessary funds, and to be responsible for the ceremony of presentation, may I not count upon your name for the committee?
Believe me,
Very cordially yours,
