Dearest Marcet

How are you and the children getting on through this hot weather, and just when are you coming to Cedarville. I speak in Boston July 5th and have one or two engagements in the east afterward but I am most anxious to see you for a night and a day at Cedarville before I meet Mary Smith in Denver on July 18th. She has come through the operation very well and is now at home [although] she is very white and ill yet.

The G.O.P. Convention has been very exciting and the weather has been true to form for such an occasion. My love to the entire family. I am always devotedly yours
