May 9th

My dear Miss Addams:

I thank you for the copy of "Charity & the Commons" containing your article on "Chicago Settlement and Social Unrest," I am very glad to have this because everything you say in such subjects  [page 2] is of the greatest importance and the comments upon it have excited my interest.

I'm sure it will be appropriate Sunday reading. There is something mighty queer about the Averbuch case.  I wonder if the truth will ever be brought to light.

Sincerely yours

Chester M Dawes

Miss Jane Addams.
