Dear Miss Addams:-
Thank you for the copy of Charities and Commons, in which I have read your article with much interest.
When I do operations my assistant frequently manages to hold his sponge in a direct line between my eyes and the field of the opeation which is somewhat annoying although it does not interfere in the least degree with his ability to see the operation. What a fine thing it would be if everyone in the world could see the point of view not only of himself but of everyone else.
