Eleanor Daggett Karsten to Virginia Barton Swan Dales, February 5, 1918

February 5, 1918.

My dear Miss Dales:

Miss Addams has asked me to thank you for your letter in reference to the amendment to the Draft Law and wishes me to tell you that she thinks this would have to be referred to the Legislative Committee of which Mrs. Post is now Chairman, and Mrs. Slayden and Mrs. Kent are members. Since you are in Washington, it is likely you are in constant touch with these people and probably have already talked the matter over with them. Miss Addams does not feel that she can do anything in this matter except on advice of the Legislative Committee.

Very sincerely yours,

Executive Secretary.
