Dear JA:
Here is a paragraph from a long letter I received from Mr. William Jenkins, Honorary Secretary, New Zealand Royal Society for the Health of Women and Children:
"I have had it in my mind, for many years, to write and thank Miss Jane Addams and Dr. Lyman [Abbott] for the inspiration that I have drawn from their life and work. The "New York Outlook" since boyhood, I have been as closely acquainted with as with the local newspaper. My lifelong friend, Dr. Waddell of this city, has pretty well the whole of Dr. [Abbott's] works and over twenty years of the old "Christian Union" and the "New York Outlook" bound in annual volumes. Of Miss Jane [Addams's] influence on the world's thought and life I am not capable of expressing. Some day I will call at South Halsted Street and tell her."
Yours faithfully,
Chief.
