Dear Lady:

Do advise me about the newly-born American Union for a Democratic Peace.

I shall insist upon resigning from the Executive Committee on the ground that I can almost never attend the meetings, but whether or not I remain in any other capacity would depend very much upon what you write me in a frank statement of the matter.

How is life going with you nowadays? Do drop me a line.

Always affectionately yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

I ended by saying I am so happy because you are better
