Dear Miss Gyles

Mr Pond has laid out a plan for the gymnasium baths  making the showers of slate [finely] imbedded in asphalt. Will you write him at (to Allen B.) stating just what are the worst faults of the present arrangement. I am much afraid that the whole thing will be done [now] for $600.00 and then we will still have trouble. [page 2]

I am going to New Hampshire next Wednesday and of course the work will have to be begun before my return, but if you write to Mr Pond I am sure that it will be a good thing.

How are you, dear Lady? I hope that Kansas isn't having its usual debilitating effect. Ella Waite is well enough to come down to the court every day and the rest of the household are quite well and jolly  [although] small. [page 3] We will not do the front door this year probably but still hope to bridge the alley. With cordial greetings to your mother and sister I am Always affectionately yours

Jane Addams
