Dearest Lady

I leave here on Sunday at 10.30 arriving in Washington at 1.45. Mrs Thomas meets me and assures me that she can sleep two of us in her little apartment. It would be very nice if you could come, I will certainly look about on the train hoping to see you.

Isn't the situation strange. The Z. note sounds faked to me -- Mary Smith [leaves] Baltimore on Tuesday evening, if you come to the [page 2] Inauguration you could go over with me on Tuesday and see her -- that ought to draw you. I am feeling better and am always devotedly yours
