My dear Miss Webb:
I take great pleasure in sending you under separate cover the Abridged Debater's Handbook for which you sent twenty-five cents in stamps.
Are you interested in the bill for compulsory physical training which educators in California are trying to introduce at the next session of the legislature to counteract the bill for compulsory military training? I am sure you will be interested in this and I very much hope that you may arouse some interest on the part of others, and may write to your representative on this question. We were told again and again while we were in Washington this last week at the Annual Meeting of the Woman's Peace Party that the minds of legislators were very susceptible to letters from their constituency and that any personal letter sent to a representative did a great deal of good. When this comes up in the state legislature in California, will you not write to your representative and urge others to do so? We shall need all the assistance we can get this year to keep military training out of our public schools.
