Dear Lady --

Thank you so much for the letter, it is a little bewildering in its philosophy certainly but very dear to have and to hold.

I saw a good deal of the Fellowship of Reconciliation people in England, and have also seen one or two who came to America. There is a great rest in their position from our incessant stirring and crying which always appeals to my Tolstoyanism. [page 2]

I do so wish that some happy chance would bring you to Mt Desert this summer. Old friends really ought to comfort each other in their troublous times.

I am better but still under the domination of a trained nurse! Always affectionately and devotedly yours Jane Addams
