Dear Lady:
I have received the enclosed letter from Mr. Bryan.
Do you think it would be a good thing for the Anti-Preparedness people, or Union against American Militarism to undertake this? It seems to me that it would be rather better than to have the Woman's Peace Party do it; it would be more representative. There is a little organization in Chicago that might undertake it for here, but a national body, of course, would be the natural thing for Chicago and St. Louis.
It was so nice to hear directly of you through Mary and to know that you are contemplating coming to Chicago soon. I am just announcing Marcet's engagement in the Girard papers; she is to be married on the 16th of June. I met the young man yesterday and he made a very favorable impression.
Always affectionately yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
