Baymeath,
Bar Harbor, Maine.
My dear Mr. Pinchot,
I am enclosing a letter from Mr. Thompson with an apology for my delayed reply to his request. I have known Mr. Thompson for many years and have been associated with him in various public undertakings. I have the greatest respect [page 2] for his integrity and ability and, while The National Public Ownership League is too new to have much said about it, I am sure that the original group of people are both earnest and devoted.
May I congratulate you upon your recent activity against militarism. With cordial greetings to Mrs. Pinchot and yourself, I am
Faithfully yours,
Jane Addams
