My dear Mr. Kent:
I am receipt of the little volume entitled -- [WOMEN] AT THE HAGUE -- and I appreciate very much your thoughtfulness in sending it to me.
I am, I believe, as strong in my advocacy for peace as you are and would take all honorable means to keep our country free from war -- the horrors of which are being impressed upon us more and more every day.
I had the pleasure of a conversation a few weeks ago with Miss Addams and as you may conclude I have a very high regard for her lofty ideals and keen intellect. [page 2]
Thanking you for your courtesy believe me, my dear Mr. Kent,
Very sincerely yours,
Robert Lansing. [signed]
