January 20, 1916 --
My dear Miss Addams:
In reply to my letter of some time ago, I have the acknowledgement of your secretary; and since then am pleased to notice your recovery and your presence and influence at Washington.
I [enclose], herewith, our Bulletin #4 and my report to the committee which will be information to you and an expression of our desire to make as rapid progress as possible. We sent you the book, -- the prospectus of our movement, at the time of my previous letter, which we hope you have read and noted carefully its educational effect. We think no permanent peace can come to the world till our purpose is accomplished.
We earnestly desire to add you to our committee, to have your moral support and such active assistance as may be convenient to you. And hoping that you will give us a favorable reply, I am,
W H Harvey [signed]
